To answer your question, here is an extract from the official guidance notes (used by army recruiters but guidance for the navy/marines is similar):

'Candidates should be aware that domestic obligations must not prevent them from meeting the responsibilities of world-wide service in the Armed Forces. They have no right to expect to serve with or close to a spouse/partner. Where possible, the Service will try to locate married couples close together, but this will be subject to the needs of the Service...'
