Mostly they are not happy with their kit.  In 2008, 42% of navy recruits said that they were satisfied with their personal kit, 32% were not and 26% were neutral.  Of the marines, only about a third (35%) said they were satisfied with their kit.  Recruits were particularly unhappy with major equipment such as vehicles and ships; only a third of navy recruits and a quarter of marines said they were satisified with these.
