How much bullying goes on in the navy/marines? Print E-mail

The navy has a 'zero tolerance' policy on bullying and most recruits are not bullies. Even so, in 2011 the official survey found that about 1 in 9 (11%) navy recruits said they had been bullied in the previous 12 months.  This is the highest rate of bullying in the armed forces (equal with the RAF) and it has been increasing in the navy.

By contrast, in 2011 only 1 in 25 marines (4%) said they'd been bullied in the previous 12 months.
