Do navy and marines recruits enjoy their jobs? Print E-mail

According to the official survey in 2009, 49% of navy recruits (and 61% of marines) said they were satisfied with life in the navy/marines, 23% (17% of marines) were dissatisfied and 28% (22% of marines) were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. This means that you are more likely to enjoy being a sailor or marine than not enjoy it.

On the other hand, job satisfaction in the navy/marines is not quite as high as in civilian life.  In 2009 a survey of civilians showed that 65% were satisfied with their work (compared with just 57% of navy recruits and 56% of marines). There are also many dissatisfied people in the navy and marines who can't leave because of their contract; they feel trapped in a bad situation.
