How much bullying goes on in the army? Print E-mail

The army has a 'zero tolerance' policy on bullying and most recruits are not bullies. Even so, in 2011 an army survey found that about 1 in 13 recruits (8%) said they'd been bullied in the previous 12 months, so bullying is a risk.  In fact, the level of bullying in the armed forces has remained fairly constant for several years - it isn't going up or down.
