Thinking of joining the armed forces? Know the facts...
| If I found I disagreed with the RAF after I'd joined up, could I leave? |

It depends. If you disagreed deeply on moral grounds with warfare or a specific operation you could be experiencing a 'conscientious objection'. Everyone has a right of conscientious objection. If you could show that you had a conscientious objection, you would be allowed to leave the RAF. But the rules for conscientious objection are complicated - it's not the same as just disliking your job. If you thought you had a conscientious objection you could get advice and information from the independent service At Ease - www.atease.org.uk If you didn't have a conscientious objection but wanted to leave the RAF anyway, then the ordinary rules for leaving would apply - see the question on this in this list. |
