You should expect to live in shared rooms initially unless you have a family. Nearly half of all single living accommodation in the armed forces is of the lowest grade - personnel frequently complain about it. The government is investing billions of pounds to upgrade accommodation but this will take some years.  In 2008, just under half of RAF personnel said they were satisfied with their accommodation, 37% were dissatisfied.
