| How much travel / adventure / sport is there in the RAF? |

RAF recruits are likely to travel and go on adventurous training, such as trekking through mountains, although not as much as recruits in the army and navy/marines. The downside is that you may have to travel to places you didn't want to go to, and you may be expected to spend a long time away from home with only short gaps between operations and exercises - this can place a strain on your social and family life outside the forces. There are also many opportunities for sports and fitness training in the forces. In 2009 nearly everyone in the RAF (85%) thought the sports facilities were good - this is a better rate than in the navy or army. About two-thirds (69%) said the opportunities for fitness activities were good, although only half (51%) thought there was enough of the sort of adventurous training (i.e. mountain climbing etc.) that appears in the brochures.
