| It's wrong to say that people from disadvantaged backgrounds are most at risk |

Comment: 'The comment "people from diadvantaged backgrounds have the most to gain and are most at risk" [on the pros and cons page] is completely false. When involved in an offensive action everyone involved, whether heir to millions or under-privileged, faces the same risk. It is also a falsehood to suggest people from more advantaged backgrounds will be offered better, or safer jobs. All jobs in the armed forces are allocated on the basis of suitability, not background.' Response: Accepted. The reference on the pros and cons page to greater risks for those with disadvantaged backgrounds was not intended to refer to the risk of being killed or seriously injured, or of being treated badly by the chain of command. However, it was misleading and it has now been removed.
